What to Expect
Tesla is seeking energetic and highly motivated Process Engineering Technicians to join our Process Engineering team. Your efforts will have a direct impact on both manual and automated processes on the production line. Engineering Technicians also contribute directly to optimization and development of current and future processes. Candidates with a strong drive to learn, adapt, and be flexible will see multiple opportunities for growth in both the soft skills and technical skills necessary to be a key contributor to Tesla's mission.
What You'll Do
Support the trial and launch of new processes and programs
Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing processes by utilizing cycle time, OEE, and other data
Audit and update technical documents, including 2D layouts
Collaborate with production, engineers and cross functional teams, providing detailed reports, observations, and recommendations
Write and update Manufacturing Work Instructions
Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing process changes, line rebalancing, and control plans
Train new operators and technicians on station operation and processes
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience in a pilot, maintenance or equivalent work setting
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and learn 2D and 3D CAD programs (Autocad, Solidworks, Catia)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with basic material fabrication (welding, 3-axis mill, lathe, etc.). GD&T is a plus
Knowledge with MES, Kuka, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley PLC are a plus
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

Expected Compensation $30.50 - $44.84/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
