is seeking a
Quality Inspector
for a leading aviation manufacturer in San Jose. This long‑term contract position offers the opportunity to work with a cutting‑edge aerospace company focused on innovation and precision. The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace inspection, strong familiarity with inspection tools and methods, and the ability to support FAA certification efforts.
Responsibilities Daily Inspection Tasks
Perform receiving, in‑process, and final inspections on aircraft components.
Inspect parts against engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Identify nonconformances and ensure adherence to required tolerances.
Defect Documentation and Issue Resolution
Accurately document defects and deviations using established systems.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
Regulatory and Quality Compliance
Support FAA conformity inspections and assist in meeting AS9100 and other regulatory standards.
Review completed manufacturing operations to confirm compliance with internal and external requirements.
Inspection Planning and Advanced Tools
Provide input on inspection planning using advanced tools such as CMMs, laser trackers, and digital inspection platforms.
Participate in the development and improvement of inspection procedures.
Assist with implementation of APQP tools, including PFMEA, control plans, and statistical process control (SPC).
Contribute to process improvements and best practices related to quality assurance.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace or a high‑precision manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, surface plates, and height masters.
Strong understanding of tolerances, GD&T, and dimensional inspection requirements.
Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections and documentation.
Familiarity with MES systems (e.g., SAP) and electronic inspection plans.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality control specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
