Salary Details: A range of $150,000 to $250,000

Posting Summary The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center at the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) is recruiting a tenured or tenure‑track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to expand our research portfolio in the basic science of neurodegenerative diseases. We seek scholars with a focus on innovative, rigorous, and impactful translational science in the field of ADRD. Applicants may come from neuroscience, animal research, human subjects research, clinical research, or related disciplines.

This recruitment is part of a newly approved diversity cluster hiring opportunity toward Addressing Health Equity in Age‑related Disorders (AHEAD). The AHEAD cluster aims to bring together scholars from Rutgers Health, the School of Engineering, and the School of Arts and Sciences to advance knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders, develop treatments and technology, and deepen understanding of social, racial, and ethnic health disparities. Ideal candidates will bring vision and experience in modern aging and memory research and enthusiasm for team science.

Qualifying applicants must have an established scholarly record demonstrating the ability to develop and lead a program of independent, NIH (or other extramural) funded research and maintain current, active extramural funding. Responsibilities

Develop and lead an independent program of research focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Secure and manage NIH or other extramural grant funding.

Publish peer‑reviewed articles and communicate findings to academic and non‑academic audiences.

Mentor students and early‑stage investigators.

Collaborate across disciplines within the BHI and with external partners.

Contribute to the development and growth of the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center.

Minimum Education and Experience MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in cellular, molecular, computational, or systems neuroscience, psychiatry, neurology, or related fields with a research focus on Alzheimer's or related diseases.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to develop and lead a program of independent extramural funded research, including a record of leadership or major contributions to peer‑reviewed grant proposals to NIH or other sponsors.

Academic credentials qualifying for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at Rutgers, including successful extramural funding and peer‑reviewed publications on aging, Alzheimer's disease, or related disorders.

Record of successful multi‑disciplinary collaboration and mentorship of students and early‑stage investigators.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to translate research findings and concepts to both academic and non‑academic audiences.

Strong interest and enthusiasm for participating in the development of the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center and contributing to cutting‑edge science.
