Posting Summary The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center at the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) is recruiting a tenured or tenure‑track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to expand our research portfolio in the basic science of neurodegenerative diseases. We seek scholars with innovative, rigorous, and impactful basic research programs focusing on the gut‑brain axis related to aging, Alzheimer's disease, or associated dementias.

This recruitment is part of a newly approved diversity cluster hiring opportunity towards Addressing Health Equity in Age‑related Disorders (AHEAD). The AHEAD cluster envisions hiring and bringing together a cohort of scholars from Rutgers Health (RH), the School of Engineering (SoE), and School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Rutgers New Brunswick to collectively advance knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders, develop treatments and technology solutions that help people experience a higher quality of life, and deepen understanding of the social, racial, and ethnic health disparities associated with the onset and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders to map a path towards health equity and healthy aging.

Ideal candidates will bring vision and experience in modern aging and memory research and enthusiasm for team science and collaboration. Qualified applicants must have an established scholarly record demonstrating ability to conduct independent, extramurally funded research focusing on aging, Alzheimer's disease, or associated dementias. Candidates must have current and active extramural NIH funding. Rutgers values a culturally diverse faculty; we strongly encourage applications women and candidates underrepresented in medicine. Rutgers University is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center is actively working to ensure that our faculty composition reflects diversity.
