We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator that is experienced, agile, and collaborative; and has maturity, confidence, and sound design/troubleshooting/decision making skills. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will work closely with the Director of IT to lead implementation, architect solutions, support, enhance, and foster adoption of a variety of computerized infrastructure and enterprise systems. This position requires a passion for IT, systems administration, strategic thinking, and supporting the ever-changing technology needs of the company. As well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment at all levels of the organization while mentoring junior team members. The Senior IT Systems Administrator will be crucial to maintaining the Microsoft Azure infrastructure that fosters security, collaboration, and adoption of the technologies that drive operational excellence for both the business and our customers. You will possess a demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes without direct reporting authority and will serve as a technical subject matter expert for complex infrastructure decisions. Essential Job Functions: Lead Azure Infrastructure Management to include user accounts, groups, conditional policies, Intune management, mobile device management, and endpoint security with focus on enterprise-scale architecture and optimization. Architect, deploy, and maintain comprehensive IT infrastructure including workstations, servers, and specialized instrument software across Quality Control laboratories, production automation systems, utility controls, and other critical facility operations. Proactively manage system lifecycle activities including security patch management, access control governance, and audit trail compliance to ensure continuous operational integrity and regulatory adherence in the GMP environment. Lead onsite support for tier 2 troubleshooting of issues that cannot be resolved by the tier 1 helpdesk (managed services provider) and escalate to tier 3 when necessary. Develop, execute, and maintain documentation for the support of infrastructure and enterprise systems to aid system adoption and ensure assets are reliable, accessible, and secure. Provide technical leadership and administrative support and liaison with partners for assigned systems and supporting applications by completing tasks such as maintenance, periodic reviews, access and systems administration. Work closely with engineering, quality control, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions that drive operational excellence and process improvements while providing technical guidance and recommendations. Ensure alignment with directives and industry guidelines for applications and serve as the primary technical resource for regulatory compliance matters. Mentor junior IT staff and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams. Participate in strategic IT planning and technology roadmap development. Lead complex projects and coordinate with external vendors and consultants. Special Job Requirements: 7+ years of progressive IT Administration Experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities. 5+ years of experience managing Microsoft Azure platform for AD, Intune, MDM, endpoint management, Teams, SharePoint, and other Azure-powered solutions including enterprise-scale deployments. 7+ years proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting Windows-based workstations and servers in complex enterprise environments. Proven experience in helpdesk support and customer service mindset with ability to lead technical teams. Advanced knowledge of building SOPs, systems support, Data Integrity guidance, GxP compliance, Software Development Life Cycle, ITIL, and Good Documentation Practices to support working within a regulated environment. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with demonstrated senior-level expertise. Proven experience in project management and team leadership. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to architect complex solutions. Additional Preferences: Required: Advanced certification in Microsoft Azure Platforms, ITIL, or similar with preference for multiple certifications. Experience with regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments. Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) a plus. Experience with automation tools, PowerShell scripting, or other scripting languages. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
