is seeking a full-time

Surgical Pathologist

certified in AP or AP&CP by the American Board of Pathology for our campus in

Park Slope, Brooklyn . A minimum of two years of independent sign-out experience is required. Fellowship training or significant experience in Surgical Pathology subspecialty areas

are

favored including Breast, Gastroenterology, Gynecology and Genitourinary. The selected candidate will be an employee of Weill Cornell Medicine and hold an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.

The surgical pathology service Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is staffed with 6 to 7 pathologists, 4 PAs, 2 managers and 14 histology/cytology technicians covering approximately 18,000 surgical pathology, 10,000 GYN cytology and 2,300 non-GYN cytology cases annually. Responsibilities will include general surgical pathology & cytopathology service with a focus on subspecialty areas, frozen section consultations, night and weekend surgical pathology call, tumor board coverage and other responsibilities associated with routine hospital-based practice.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, an ACS-level II trauma center, with 651-beds, academically affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, cares for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. Brooklyn Methodist Hospital contains both community hospital practice and academic programs that include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs.

The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $370,000. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.
