Our client, a leading beauty retail company , is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of workplace safety programs. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a safe, efficient, and compliant retail and office environment. The ideal candidate is an organized, knowledgeable professional with strong communication skills who is comfortable partnering with employees at all levels. The Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs, conducting audits and inspections, supporting incident investigations, and providing safety education.

**Please note this is a onsite, 6-month contract role based in San Francisco, CA. Pay will be $27.18.**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs in alignment with OSHA regulations and industry best practices
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly within retail and office settings
  • Investigate workplace incidents and support the development and tracking of corrective action plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, reports, and documentation
  • Deliver safety training and educational programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Establish and maintain clear health and safety communication channels and reporting systems
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), empowering employees to identify hazards and suggest improvements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee health and safety, preferably within retail environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable, professional, and patient, with a strong attention to detail
