Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Saint Joseph, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee key accounting operations while collaborating closely with the Controller and other team members to ensure accurate financial processes and reporting. This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and leadership skills. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries and schedules to ensure accurate financial records.
- Manage joint venture roll-forward entries and support organizational accounting processes.
- Assist with system integrations, including Oracle conversion and Lawson feed updates.
- Perform account reconciliations using Blackline to maintain financial accuracy.
- Compile and analyze complex reporting packages, ensuring clarity and precision in financial data.
- Extract trial balances and manage large datasets containing thousands of line items.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models, including PivotTables, nested formulas, and macros.
- Collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals and maintain continuity in accounting operations.
- Provide guidance and oversight on month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
- Ensure compliance with financial audits and regulatory requirements. Requirements - Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of not-for-profit and healthcare accounting practices.
- Hands-on experience with Lawson software is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in performing account reconciliations using Blackline.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manage large datasets and use complex formulas.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of integrating seamlessly into a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with month-end close procedures, general ledger maintenance, and financial audits.
