WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Civil Highway Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Mid-Atlantic Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The Opportunity

The ideal candidate must possess a Professional Engineer’s License and be competent in all conventional aspects of technical civil design to support transportation projects. Candidate must be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects. The candidate will work on small projects or portions of larger projects in a team-oriented environment. The candidate will be a task leader for specific Civil Engineering aspects of a project’s design, including development of roadway/site layout and geometry, grading, drainage, access, Right-of-Way, sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation, and utility relocation schemes. We are seeking a candidate with effective oral/written communication skills who can assist with client contacts at meetings and other specific client interactions. Proficiency and demonstrated hands-on experience in Microstation and InRoads, as well as AutoCAD and Civil3D is required. Member of professional practice organizations and outreach activities is a plus. Responsibilities

Lead specific Civil Engineering aspects of a project’s design, including development of roadway/site layout and geometry, grading, drainage, access, Right-of-Way, sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation, and utility relocation schemes. Plan and conduct tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects. Collaborate in a team-oriented environment; work on small projects or portions of larger projects. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline. 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design. NJ Professional Engineering License is a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficient in preparing drawings using Microstation and InRoads. Knowledgeable in preparing drawings using AutoCAD and Civil3D. Experience using Scheduling Software. Proficiency with applying AASHTO and NJDOT design standards and guidelines. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering.
