Contract Specialist – Onboard Systems

Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, located in Anaheim, CA, is one of the world’s leading providers of Search & Rescue (SAR) and Human External Cargo (HEC) advanced mission equipment for civil, commercial, and military helicopters.
Position Overview Location: Anaheim, CA (Hybrid)
The Contract Specialist will be responsible for supporting contractual and business efforts for multiple businesses under the Mission Systems portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of customer-facing commercial and government contracting, and industry regulations to ensure timely and effective contract execution, while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
What You’ll Do
Draft, generate, interpret, and manage small and large, complex agreements and contractual documents in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests to ensure these documents align with business objectives.
Provide contract administration support by reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating contract requirements and change/modification impacts.
Work closely with senior management on multi-business agreements.
Perform proposal support, contract negotiation, and administration assistance for programs and special projects as assigned.
Advise Contracts and Program leadership on contractual rights, obligations and risks: conduct risk assessments, create risk mitigation plans, and propose alternative approaches to contract execution through redlines.
Serve as an authorized, empowered representative for Onboard Systems, interfacing with customer buying command representatives to build effective relationships and manage contracts to support operational/strategic business goals.
Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and customer concerns related to contract performance and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
Investigate and reconcile significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, data requirements, schedules, etc.
Support the Contract Manager with collecting contractual data and compiling reports.
Maintain contract documents and administration systems for accuracy, searchability, and to ensure full and complete records of all contract information are kept.
Be available on site at least 3 days a week.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 years of professional experience or an advanced degree in a related field with 3 years of professional experience.
Experience working in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, including experience interpreting and applying these regulations in government contracting and procurement processes.
A critical thinker with good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proven ability to develop internal and external relationships; must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and able to work in a virtual team environment; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain and evolve document retention, process, and procedures.
Excellent presentation skills, strong analytical abilities, and a self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint.
Proven ability to interface collaboratively with disciplines such as Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, or any related function.
Prior experience with FAR Part 12 procurements, including collaborating with different functional disciplines in preparing commercial item assertion packages (technical and price reasonableness).
NCMA Credentials (CFCM™, CCMA™, etc.) and other industry‑specific certifications a plus.
