Join Our Client’s Leadership Team as an Engineering Manager

Are you an engineering leader ready to take on a strategic role, driving innovation and excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our client is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead their Engineering team and champion critical projects.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a motivated leader who can balance technical expertise with effective team management and mentoring, and strategic planning.

THIS WILL BE AN ON-SITE ROLE NEAR HUNTINGTON, WV. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED.

The Role: Strategic Leadership and Technical Excellence The Engineering Manager is the central figure for technical operations, responsible for guiding a team of engineers, overseeing capital investments, and ensuring all processes meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.

Strategic Project Management:

Own the planning, budgeting, and execution of all major capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from concept to commissioning. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance specifications.

Process Optimization:

Oversee the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to drive significant improvements in cost, quality, and output.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborating closely with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other areas to support new product launches and resolve complex technical issues.

Standards & Compliance:

Ensure all engineering activities adhere to regulatory standards, company safety protocols, and quality requirements (e.g., IATF/TS, APQP, PPAP).

What You'll Be Doing: Daily & Long-Term Focus

Set departmental goals, manage workloads, and conduct performance reviews for the engineering staff.

Develop and manage the engineering department's operating budget.

Drive the investigation and root cause analysis of critical process and equipment failures, implementing long-term corrective actions.

Approve engineering designs, specifications, and changes.

Evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential adoption, creating the business case for investment.

Oversee plant layouts, capacity planning, and efficiency modeling to support future growth.

Develop and implement training programs for technical staff and production personnel on new processes and equipment.

Qualifications: What You Bring Required Skills & Experience:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related technical field) is required.

Industry experience: Must have experience in the automotive industry.

Experience:

Progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing production environment, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role desired.* Sr. Engineers with leadership and mentoring experience are encouraged to apply if ready for that next step in their career.

Lean / Six Sigma:

Strong problem solving and improvement tools and expertise.

Proven Success:

Demonstrated track record of successfully managing major capital projects and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Acumen:

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, tooling, and equipment design. PLC is required. A/B preferred.

Leadership:

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
