Overview X-Ray Technologist - Float - PRN
Position Highlights
PRN
Hours: Varied; Monday‑Friday shifts vary from 7:00am‑9:00pm; Saturday/Sunday 8:00am‑4:00pm. Holidays and travel as needed. Requires at least 3 shifts and 1 weekend shift a month.
Location: Naperville, surrounding clinics as well
Responsibilities
Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by a Radiologist.
Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of requested areas.
Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
Moves x‑ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
Obtains patient’s pertinent history.
Maintains crash cart and stock inventory.
Maintains OSHA regulations.
Performs other projects and duties as related to department objectives.
Works collaboratively with team, accepts constructive criticism, follows work rules.
Reports to lead technologist for work assignments.
Assists with film quality control; required to work evenings and holidays with responsibility for operation of the department.
Assists and relieves manager to expedite patient workflow through the department.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be AART registered or eligible, also IDNS licensed.
CPR certification.
Years of Experience
6 months – 2 years related experience.
Compensation The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $28.84‑$38.90, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
