Job Description Oracle Hardware Platform Development Engineering is seeking a highly driven
Senior Diagnostics Engineer
to join our collaborative team in Santa Clara, California. In this role, you will be responsible for developing state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic tools to support Oracle's innovative Cloud, AI, and database platforms. Your expertise in diagnostic software development and system‑level debugging will be instrumental in testing server subsystems and quickly identifying potential issues, ensuring maximum reliability and seamless deployment across Oracle's cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with internal and external partners to ensure our systems deliver industry‑leading performance, resiliency, and security for global enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
Design and implement diagnostic software for our next‑generation cloud servers and systems, crucial for testing various server subsystems and swiftly identifying potential issues.
Evaluate system architectures and propose diagnostic implementation strategies, ensuring robust testing, scalability, and a user‑friendly environment.
Participate in platform definition, analysis, and bring‑up, ensuring seamless integration of diagnostics into the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with in‑house and external engineering teams, including system architects, firmware developers, and validation engineers, to define and refine diagnostic features.
Integrate new diagnostic functionalities, rectify bugs, debug issues, and deliver solutions to mitigate problems.
Work closely with third‑party component suppliers, partners, and internal teams (hardware/software development, quality assurance, cloud orchestration, and security compliance) to enhance system reliability.
Provide guidance to internal Oracle teams on system diagnostics, failure analysis, and monitoring strategies to support large‑scale cloud deployments.
Assist Oracle Cloud and Support teams in root‑cause analysis of hardware/software failures, leveraging lab replication, remote debugging, and in‑depth telemetry analysis.
Partner with Oracle manufacturing teams to ensure hardware is secure and rigorously validated, meeting deployment standards for cloud customers.
Qualifications •
Experience:
Proven background in diagnostic software development, system‑level debugging, and testing complex server subsystems.

Technical skills:
Proficiency in C/C++, scripting languages, and familiarity with hardware debugging tools.

Soft skills:
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.
