Overview

The Team: Welcome to the Mersey Emergency Department. Our friendly team works closely together to provide caring, high-quality support to our community. The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes. At all times, Enrolled Nurses are expected to adhere to relevant policies and protocols, including those related to mandatory education, training, and competency assessments. The Enrolled Nurse plays a vital role in delivering holistic patient care and fostering a safe, supportive environment. They participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to support the achievement of desired patient outcomes and operate under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager. You will need: A sound knowledge of principles of nursing care, procedures and practices pertaining to Enrolled Nursing Practice Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills

Details and eligibility

Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 February 2026. Note: hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary:

$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439-$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.

Salary Packaging and Benefits: You’ll have access to salary packaging and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year plus other benefits if eligible.
