Clinical Systems Analyst (Cerner Scheduling)
Hybrid Role – Chicago, IL (2 to 3 days per week)

Job Overview RL Canning is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Clinical Systems Analyst
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of Cerner Scheduling functionality and for providing immediate application and systems support. They will oversee the completion of projects, system enhancements, apply vendor upgrades, provide application support, and support users.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $100,000 to $115,000 annual W2, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation and benefits are at the Company’s discretion and may be modified in accordance with applicable law.
In this role, you will
Develop training materials, including tools such as course manuals, eLearning, webcasts, updates, and competency assessments appropriate for clinical learning needs.
Consult with end users on scheduling design and build changes.
Test software to detailed specifications.
Report on project activity and status to management.
Learn new clinical applications and oversee the completion of tasks related to clinical system functions.
Coordinate the resolution of user calls and determine appropriate action by investigating and analyzing reported hardware and software problems.
Identify, analyze, track, and report on project issues.
Evaluate and assist senior management in the implementation of system upgrades.
Analyze functional requirements documentation, conduct interviews with key personnel, and collect information about the use of the current system.
Assist in the preparation of documentation and development of interface and conversion specifications.
Serve as liaison between departments and external areas as required. Schedule periodic meetings with IS, vendors, and users to ensure effective communication.
Identify and encourage user department procedural changes.
Conduct workflow sessions with end users.
Demonstrate the system to users.
Perform system adaptations and modifications according to the prepared specifications.
Function as a project implementation manager for clinical system‑related projects.
Assist in developing departmental education and training materials.
Refine sample test plans for conversion, interfaces, and applications.
Assist in the development of a Live Event Plan.
Provide post‑live application support.
Work with project management to obtain sign‑offs.
Complete assigned work plan tasks.
Provide after‑hours support for clinical applications according to the schedule.
Learn and assist with other applications as directed.
Perform other tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives.
For this role, you will need
Minimum 2 years’ experience with Healthcare Information Systems.
Minimum 2 years’ build and maintenance experience with Cerner Millennium Scheduling.
Implementation project management experience and hands‑on experience implementing vendor clinical application software, with a strong desire to learn other technologies.
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle.
Project management and project management software skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in a customer service environment.
Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with both internal and external hospital contacts.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Experience in the use of client‑server clinical systems is preferred.
Proficiency with personal computer hardware and software packages, including MS Office.
Ability to complete project tasks and assignments on time.
Application programming experience is a plus.
Willingness to travel as needed to support client projects and corporate responsibilities.
