What to Expect Global Business Development is a small but mighty team that works to analyze markets, shape emerging business models, and advise the industrial energy business on how best to meet Tesla’s mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. This is a dynamic role that will be a key member of the biz dev team. It requires an intensely curious mindset that loves analyzing mountains of data to solve problems. On any given day, this Analyst could be analyzing competitor product announcements to inform product strategy, researching energy storage project announcements to guide new market entry, creating market size and share dashboards to inform growth strategy, and much more. Working on Tesla's Energy Business Development Team requires wearing many hats and adapting to a fast‑paced work environment. Besides a rock‑solid work ethic and a strong team‑oriented personality, members of the team must display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting landscape.
What You'll Do
Track energy industry trends, create robust data structures and dashboards, synthesize into key takeaways, and report results to entire Energy team
Monitor energy storage project, factory, and competitor data
Formalize and scale models and reports by transitioning them from Excel into Python/web dashboards and automating data scraping
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Economics, Applied Analytics or equivalent experience
Advanced skills with SQL, Python, Excel, and experience with Power BI
Strong track record of owning the entire analysis workflow – data collection, cleaning, analysis, and recommendation – to solve tough business problems
Experience combining and cleaning large, complex datasets
Strong sense of curiosity about the renewable and storage industry, desire to understand and explain why things happen
Strong written and verbal communication skills
2+ years of electricity / energy market industry experience with a broad understanding of how the industry works, energy storage experience strongly preferred
AI/LLM integration experience to optimize workflows and intelligence gathering
Prior experience gathering intel or modeling energy storage, solar, or other energy economics preferred

Expected Compensation: $64,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
