Responsibilities The Southwest Regional Business Class (BC) Lead for Dams, Levees and Civil Works (DLCW) is responsible for the direction, coordination and quality of work for dam, levee, civil works and flood risk management projects in the Southwest operating region of HDR. Duties include coordinating, facilitating and providing risk management for large‑scale, multi‑discipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity; building and maintaining client and area business class relationships; participating in project development and contract document preparation; mentoring mid‑ and junior‑level staff across disciplines; overseeing project types such as interior drainage and riverine flood risk management, dams and reservoirs, ecosystem restoration, drainage, and general site civil of major water management infrastructure.
The SW Regional BC Lead coordinates projects regionally with inter‑related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, and GIS; collaborates with HDR’s other regional and corporate business class technical leads and advisors; reinforces the Quality Management Program (QMP); and provides staff training as needed. The role may also involve reviewing work scopes, contracts, and project pricing with HDR legal, project managers, business group managers, and area managers.
Preferred Qualifications
Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
MS in civil, environmental or water resources engineering is preferred
Fifteen (15) years related experience
Experience as a task lead and/or project manager in a consulting business is preferred
Self‑starter, highly motivated and team orientation
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
Extensive experience designing and directing large complex multi‑discipline projects
Experience with engineering during construction or construction administration for dam and levee projects
Strong technical writing abilities, solid engineering background, and effective presentation skills
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
10 years experience in related field
Maintains a professional or Engineering registration with related technical experience
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values

Compensation Range {Nevada}: $154,350 – $220,550; {California}: $169,785 – $275,625
