Mechanical / Project Engineer
Position Description:
Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Mechanical / Project Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for calculations for Pressure Vessels in accordance with ASME Section VIII.
Responsible for calculations of piping stress.
Responsible for maintaining piping specifications in accordance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3.
Responsible for execution of projects; defining scope, establishing budgets, planning resources, scheduling work, generating designs and specifications, and overseeing procurement, production and shipment of work.
Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with customers, contractors, and internal clients. Communicate, coordinate and document project execution and changes externally and internally, keeping correspondence and document tracking up to date.
Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and codes, adjusting designs, managing change orders, quoting, and procuring approvals.
Oversee generation of design documents, identify design needs, utilize in‑house engineering skills, prepare material specifications, bills of material, and detailed designs; outsource design and engineering when necessary.
Manage all aspects of project budgeting, from initial estimates to final cost analysis.
Maintain and support a safe work environment, reporting unsafe conditions, keeping work areas clean, preventing injuries and illnesses, and adhering to the Company Safety Manual.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Engineering.
Job Qualifications
PE in the state of Washington.
BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Travel to customer sites within the US and overseas as required; trips may last up to 4–5 weeks.
Working knowledge of the ASME Pressure Vessel Code, Section VII‑II.
Working knowledge of ASME Power and Process Piping Sections B31.1 and B31.3.
Experience in project management and contract management.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail; able to handle multiple projects and direct team activities.
Proficiency in interpreting complex specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project) and the Windows environment.
