Inventory Specialist

Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $21.00/hr
Responsibilities
Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and SOP for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
Champion On-Shelf Availability, validate planogram accuracy, and ensure front end and pharmacy on-hand balance accuracy.
Manage front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.
Open and close the store when required, responsible for systems startup, cash handling, cashier duties, and readiness of floor and stockroom.
Customer Experience
Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members.
Operations
Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.
Scan deliveries, handle vendor receipts, and correct inaccurate orders.
Verify pharmacy shipments and complete postings for products received.
Complete on-shelf availability processes and inventory counts.
Maintain inventory compliance with state and local laws.
Training & Personal Development
Attend company-based trainings and complete all e-learning modules.
Maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Communications
Act as liaison between management and team, coach and develop capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail experience (external).
Fluent in English.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal only).
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Experience identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, or customer service associate.
Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
