Overview
The purpose of this role is to contribute to underwriting operations for a line of business by preparing and reviewing documentation, managing client records and files, processing submissions, renewals and endorsements and supporting the development of junior operations underwriters.
Location & Work Arrangement Miami, FL – hybrid working expectations.
Compensation Salary range: $64,000.00 – $96,000.00. Additional annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
Your new role
Facilitate timely underwriting operations by leveraging established decision‑making guidelines and assessing exposures.
Support the development of junior underwriters through professional guidance, partnership facilitation, technical training and assignment delegation.
Maintain streamlined operations by processing, documenting and organizing new business, renewals and endorsements, preparing legal notices and underwriting quotes.
Leverage underwriting data accurately in the pricing model.
Maintain key reporting and tracking databases, following up on loss‑sensitive documents and handling collateral concerns.
Manage client files using CRM tools and updating records as required.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers by requesting underwriting information and researching inquiries.
Support operational projects to design new process modules and evaluate market dynamics for compliance and growth.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, sharing information, recommending solutions to underwriting issues and guiding clients as necessary.

Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
4 years relevant experience, including experience in Treaty and Portfolio solutions.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
Preferred Experience & Knowledge
Underwriting operations, finance and/or the insurance industry experience.
Advanced‑level Excel proficiency (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
Accounting knowledge.
Working knowledge of underwriting department processes and procedures.
Understanding of competitive industry events and marketplace dynamics.
Principles and processes for customer service.
Products and concepts relating to the insurance industry.
Continuous improvement methodology and principles.
Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards – using relevant information and judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
