Staff Engineer - Financial Data Substantiation Platform (Hybrid)
Location: Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Chevy Chase, MD.
Salary: $110,000.00 – $230,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities
Design and implement high‑performance, scalable reconciliation systems capable of processing billions of transactions daily.
Participate in technical decisions balancing immediate business needs with long‑term scalability and maintainability.
Integrate the platform with various financial systems, ERPs, and data warehouses.
Develop core components, writing clean, efficient code.
Provide technical guidance to teammates and mentor junior engineers.
Improve code quality, testing, and deployment practices.
Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and BI teams to implement solutions for complex business requirements.
Work with Product Management to build impactful features.
Explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or similar languages.
Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong SQL and NoSQL background, data retrieval, and preparation at scale.
Data modeling, ETL, and query language experience (Python, PySpark, SQL).
Ability to collect and process raw data at scale via scripting, API integration, and SQL querying.
Experience with Snowflake integration and advanced SQL optimization.
Hands‑on experience with Agile development and CI/CD practices.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts.
