Opportunity

Act as a Subject Matter Specialist for pumping systems related to the design of mechanical systems supporting Water & Wastewater Treatment processes.

Contribute to projects related to Water and Wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance across Florida and the United States.

Work collaboratively with design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad, with a focus on Florida.

Leverage technical expertise with leadership responsibilities by guiding design teams and mentoring early‑career professionals.

Engage directly with clients across Florida.

The Team The Mechanical Engineering Department delivers high‑quality, on‑time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Wastewater, Data Centers, and Mining. The Water/Wastewater Treatment team provides comprehensive drinking water, wastewater, industrial water, recycled water, and residual services, transforming clients’ treatment infrastructure to meet current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities

Perform engineering calculations, develop system performance parameters, and create detailed design documents (P&IDs, mechanical layouts, specifications).

Teach and guide engineers in system design best practices.

Work with equipment manufacturers, other disciplines, and project stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.

Review submittals and ensure compliance with B&V standards.

Conduct site visits for assessments and client interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience developing detailed design and technical specifications for pumps and piping systems.

Knowledge and experience related to pumping systems, plant hydraulics, blowers and aeration systems, anaerobic digestion, heating water boilers, heat exchangers, and steel piping systems.

Experience in material and component selection for pumping and piping systems.

Experience identifying optimal pump sizing and selection for pump station facilities.

Experience defining pump station operational control strategies/plans.

Strong understanding of hydraulic principles.

Proven ability to communicate complex information effectively through written documentation and verbal presentations.

Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Certifications Professional Engineering license preferred.

Work Environment and Schedule

Typical office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; focus and attention to detail required.

May entail physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and work assignments.

Approximately 15 % travel.
