Director of Operational Excellence, 2 Hour Learning (Remote)
Location:
North America (remote) with 25‑75% travel. Base Pay:
$200,000/year ($100/hour).
2 Hour Learning is an AI‑driven K‑12 education startup focused on rapid school expansion and operational excellence. The Operations team is the core product and drives growth across five mission‑critical domains: Authorization, Build‑Out, Platforms, Finance, and PMO.
What You’ll Do
Take full ownership of one of the five operational pillars: Authorization, Build‑Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO.
Address challenges in your pillar using AI tools, automation frameworks, and rapid iteration cycles.
Produce clear documentation—specifications, dashboards, or procedural guides—that scale across dozens of locations.
Engage directly with operational realities: facility vendors, regulatory bodies, technical platforms, and campus staff.
Visit campuses as required to deploy solutions or validate real‑world effectiveness.
What You Won’t Be Doing
Rely on product or engineering teams to deliver your operational tools—you will prototype and automate yourself.
Prompt AI to “generate an SOP” and consider it complete—you will code and refine solutions that deliver results.
Operate exclusively from headquarters—expect regular travel and on‑ground implementation.
Delegate execution of your strategic plans to others—you will own both strategy and delivery, start to finish.
Key Responsibilities Deliver measurable outcomes within your designated operations pillar by designing and implementing systems that enable rapid school expansion with precision, speed, and AI‑driven efficiency.
Basic Requirements
Located in North America with availability to travel 25‑75% as required.
5+ years of experience in a high‑velocity, autonomous operations environment.
Excellent analytical capabilities and written communication.
Action‑oriented mindset, minimal ego, strong sense of ownership.
Background in at least one of the following areas: regulatory compliance, facilities development, SaaS user onboarding, FP&A, or technology vendor management.
Efficiently applies AI tools as naturally as spreadsheets—reflexively across diverse scenarios.
Has created automations, streamlined workflows, and explored performance‑boosting techniques using technology.
Demonstrated ability to achieve rapid mastery in new domains (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.).
About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. They’re tearing down the outdated one‑size‑fits‑all model in favor of AI‑driven personalized learning that helps kids master academics in just two hours a day. With students consistently ranking in the top 1‑2% nationally and the top 20% achieving an astonishing 6.5x growth, they’re proving that smarter learning is possible. 2 Hour Learning offers a dynamic, on‑campus and remote‑friendly environment where innovators, educators, and AI specialists can help fix a broken school system.
Working With Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Pay is $100 USD/hour (equivalent to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year), payable weekly.
