Senior Health & Safety Manager ISS Facility Services - North America

Key Purpose The HSE Senior Manager provides account leadership and functional development and implementation of the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental culture and associated programs, in alignment with Group and NAM requirements and objectives across multiple account sites.

Ideal Candidate Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field or equivalent work experience

Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements

Strong working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory body requirements

10+ years of experience delivering HSE programs and initiatives in large, industrial, manufacturing environments or airport environment

Affinity with / knowledge of large, service-driven, matrix organizations

Ability to translate business objectives and strategies into an operational program

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex issues and resolve concerns with sensitivity within all levels of an organization

High level of organization and ability to prioritize

Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams

Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs (Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing), and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems an asset

Certified ISO Auditor preferred

Key Accountabilities

Monitor key metrics and KPIs across the region to drive culture and operational excellence including, but not limited to, LTIR, RIR, HSE training completion

Assist in the development and implementation of strategic solutions and continual improvement of HSE strategies, management system and programs

Oversee HSE personnel located within the Region. Provide recommendations on current employees and staffing levels.

Mentor region HSE employees. Monitor success and well-being and implement ideas to maintain and enhance engagement and enablement.

Provide day-to-day support and guidance / solutions to accounts to maintain a safe work environment consistent with regulatory, company and client requirements company policy and authorities having jurisdiction. Review and oversee all work processes and conditions to ensure HSE (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) protective measures are optimized.

Timely communicate all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible management team and ensure that issues, concerns, and deficiencies are corrected.

Support and sustain ISS management systems

Monitor compliance with regulations and conformance with company and client standards.

Monitor injury, illness, and incident related performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develop and implement strategic solutions that will improve performance results as required

Identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services.

Facilitate investigation of incidents and nonconformities. Work with the applicable Placemakers to develop appropriate Corrective Action Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and track to completion.

Communicate effectively with colleagues within the assigned area and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required

Perform internal audits of sites to ensure both client and ISS conformance

Provide inspection readiness, as needed, for regulatory inspections

Promote safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting safety meetings, giving timely feedback, safety suggestions, and visibly supporting the safety program

Perform site level observations and risk assessments and develop recommendations for improvement

Support business unit’s operators in the utilization of HSE related software

Provide direct support and resource coordination during account acquisition, transition or refresh, including direction as to account HSE requirements.

Track regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices. Communicate impact and update programs and documentation as required.

Promote safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting safety meetings, giving timely feedback, safety suggestions, and visibly supporting the safety program

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to travel, 25%-40%

Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Extended periods of walking on premises during site visits

Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

The annual salary range for this position is $125200.00 per year - $155000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
