Overview As Process Engineer at CAES by Honeywell in San Jose, CA, you will play a critical role as part of the Environmental Screening team. In the position you will work to validate new process equipment, troubleshoot existing equipment and create and execute qualification test plans for new product development.

Responsibilities

Provide daily production support to the environmental stress screening area by taking a hands‑on approach evaluating defects, working with operators and troubleshooting machines and processes on the manufacturing line to keep production running.

Support areas that include temperature cycling, burn‑in, and vibration testing.

Evaluate processes by running temperature surveys of ovens and other equipment characterizations.

Understand customer requirements related to screening specifications and run tests to determine if equipment can complete tests internally.

Design and develop mechanical fixturing and tooling for process equipment and ergonomic issues.

Apply SPC and statistical analysis to monitor and improve processes, identify defects, and improve yields.

Design and run engineering tests to improve and develop new processes.

Train operators and write work instructions to document key process steps.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

1 year manufacturing environment experience.

Demonstrated ability to make improvements to a manufacturing process.

Ability and desire to work hands‑on in a team environment is necessary.

Effective communication with multiple manufacturing teams.

Flexibility to support a variety of areas and manage time between them.

Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level security clearance.

Position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by U.S. export laws. Eligibility requires being a “U.S. Person” under U.S. export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Preferred Requirements

Proficiency in using spreadsheet software for basic data handling and analysis.

+1 year of experience using 3D CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks).

Experience using dataloggers and sensors (e.g., thermocouples, accelerometers).

Experience writing test scripts in MATLAB, Python, VBA, R or equivalent.

Salary Range Level I: $75,200 – $94,000 and Level II: $90,080 – $112,600 annually.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
