Utah Tech University seeks a dynamic, visionary, forward‑thinking, student‑centric, and community‑minded Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs to help guide the institution into its next phase of growth and success. Utah Tech University sits in the heart of Greater Zion, a world‑renowned destination with more than 2,400 square miles of stunning views and unbeatable adventures. Utah Tech’s main campus is in St. George, Utah, with multiple satellite education centers in surrounding cities, including Hurricane, Hildale, and Panguitch.
Utah Tech’s next Provost will lead with a commitment to academic excellence and an innovative spirit by collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure that academic programs remain highly competitive, relevant, and transformative for the more than 13,000 students they serve. The Provost will strengthen the University’s 300+ programs across all disciplines (humanities, arts, education, health sciences, business, and STEM) through thoughtful evaluation and close partnership with faculty, staff, and industry, while continuing to develop innovative and accessible educational solutions for Utah Tech’s students and communities. In addition, the Provost will cultivate high‑impact partnerships with educational institutions, industry leaders, and community organizations to create enrollment pathways, expand access, and elevate student success, retention, and post‑graduation outcomes.
Position Qualifications A terminal degree from an accredited institution and a proven track record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with appointment at the rank of associate professor or full professor are required. A successful record of progressive experience in positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in higher education (including dean or equivalent) is also required.
