Job Summary
Vaco Technology is seeking a Senior Azure Engineer for a 6‑month C2H, 100% remote opportunity. The role leads the design, implementation and operation of secure, scalable cloud solutions on Azure. The engineer will architect and build infrastructure and platform services, modernize legacy workloads, and drive best practices for security, reliability, cost optimization and automation.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of Azure‑based solutions across infrastructure, networking, security, and platform services.
Architect and implement Azure environments using best practices for identity, networking, governance and resiliency.
Build and maintain repeatable infrastructure with IaC tools such as Bicep, Terraform or ARM templates.
Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for cloud and application deployments using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Design and manage Azure networking components: VNets, subnets, NSGs, UDRs, private endpoints, VPN, ExpressRoute, load balancers, application gateways and WAF.
Lead security‑first implementations leveraging Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, Managed Identities and Sentinel.
Support cloud migration, rehost, refactor and re‑architect initiatives, including landing zones, subscription design and workload onboarding.
Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize production environments for performance, availability and cost efficiency.
Establish reference architectures, reusable modules and standards to accelerate consistent delivery.
Mentor other engineers, conduct peer architecture and code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
Document solutions with runbooks, architecture diagrams and other technical artifacts.
Qualifications
Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (6+ years) in production.
Deep knowledge of Azure compute services: VMs, VMSS, App Service, AKS, etc.
Strong understanding of Azure storage services.
Advanced networking in Azure: VNets, NSGs, UDRs, private endpoints, VPN Gateway, load balancers, application gateway.
Advanced integration: Functions, Logic Apps, API Management.
Identity and access management: Entra ID, Azure AD, RBAC, PIM.
IaC experience: Bicep, Terraform.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Observability tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery design.
Strong incident management and root‑cause analysis skills.
Preferred
Certifications: AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400, SC‑100, SC‑200.
FinOps and cost governance experience.
Experience with AKS and container platforms.
Experience with Azure SQL and Cosmos DB.
Experience designing landing zones for enterprise‑scale adoption.
Experience with zero‑trust and regulated environments.
About the Project The client is an MSP that recently won a flagship enterprise‑wide support contract with a Fortune 200 client that replaced direct Microsoft support. The Azure Engineer will be part of a 6‑person Microsoft engineering team, working high‑visibility roles that demand deep technical depth, customer‑facing communication, composure under pressure and multitasking across high‑volume tickets.
Location & Compensation 100% Remote. 6‑month C2H. Hourly salary up to $170K.
