What Makes This Role Exciting We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the evolution and enhancement of our existing Databricks-based data platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting a scalable, secure, and high-performance data ecosystem following medallion architecture principles (bronze, silver, gold layers). This role requires deep expertise in Databricks (including Unity Catalog), Spark, and data governance frameworks, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and GDPR. The architect will collaborate across engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure our data infrastructure enables reliable insights, product innovation, and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities

Enhance and evolve the company’s existing Databricks-based data platform, improving performance, scalability, and governance.

>Design and implement data architectures based on the medallion framework (bronze, silver, gold) to enable clean, traceable, and reusable datasets. Manage and extend Unity Catalog for consistent data governance, lineage tracking, access control, and security compliance.

Develop and optimize data ingestion and processing pipelines using Apache Spark, Kafka, and RabbitMQ for both real-time and batch workloads.

Architect seamless data flows across Snowflake, BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB environments.

Integrate and harmonize product analytics data from platforms such as Firebase Analytics and Pendo.

Support downstream BI and analytics tools including Sisense and Power BI through well‑modeled, performant data layers.

Establish and maintain data quality, metadata management, and observability frameworks.

Ensure all data architecture and operations adhere to ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and GDPR standards, embedding security and compliance into the design.

Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to align data strategies with organizational goals.

Continuously assess and recommend improvements for data infrastructure, tooling, and best practices.

Experience Needed For This Role

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Solid experience in data architecture or data engineering, with proven leadership in building or evolving Databricks-based ecosystems.

Expertise in Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala) and Databricks Unity Catalog.

Hands‑on experience designing and managing medallion architecture data models.

Strong background in streaming and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.

Proficiency with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and relational/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Experience with data integration from SaaS sources such as Firebase Analytics and Pendo.

Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and security frameworks aligned to ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.

Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Sisense and Power BI, and how to model data effectively for analytics.

Strong architectural thinking, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), particularly with Databricks integrations.

Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, or Dagster).

Experience designing machine learning feature stores or advanced analytics pipelines in Databricks.

Relevant certifications (Databricks, Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, Kafka, or security/compliance).
