What You Will Be Doing In this position, you will process monthly Child Care Assistance Program Requests for Payment and Child Care Grant Program Reimbursement Requests for participating child‑care providers statewide. Payment processing includes verification and certification of payments, research and review of accounts and transactions, preparation of accounting reports, and ensuring compliance with Alaska statutes and regulations, Alaska Administrative Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, Child Care Assistance, Alaska Inclusive Child Care (Alaska IN!), and Child Care Grant Policies and Procedures.

Working Environment This position is located in Anchorage at the Child Care Program Office (CCPO) in the Frontier Building, 3601 C St, Suite 140, Anchorage, Alaska. The position offers the potential for a hybrid telework arrangement and/or alternate work week after the probationary period.
Qualifications
Principles of Accounting: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, including double‑entry and accrual accounting, the full accounting cycle, and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals.
Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high‑quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
One year of clerical work experience maintaining records, including basic arithmetic calculations.
Required: Post‑secondary education from an accredited college. Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.

Three professional references, at least one of whom must be your current or most recent supervisor.
A copy of your academic transcripts (unofficial is acceptable; ensure the institution name/URL is listed).
