Southwest Strategies Group is seeking a full‑time Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our San Jose team. The SAE provides in‑depth support to SWS Group clients by regularly working at a client location and immersing themselves in the client’s company culture, vision, and project. We are seeking an individual who is ready to support unique communications needs by developing tailored strategies and tactics that get results. We want strong writers and researchers – those who enjoy jumping in and learning everything they can about a client or project.

Location and Travel This position is primarily based at a client site in San Jose, with an expected on‑site presence of approximately 4 days per week, subject to change based on client needs and availability. The role may also involve early mornings, evenings, and weekend hours, as needed.
Compensation The annual base amount for this position is dependent on several factors, including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, and qualifications. The annual base amount may be adjusted based on market conditions in the location where the employee resides. A typical annual base range for this role is:
$70,000–$100,000
(actual compensation may vary by location and will follow local regulations).
Responsibilities
Regularly work on‑site at a client location representing the SWS Group and our communications expertise (for meetings, tours and special events as needed)
May serve as sole or primary point of contact with client and must have ability to work autonomously and with a team
May serve as a client representative to lead tours or give presentations/updates to community groups as needed
Develop a deep understanding of specific client project and day‑to‑day activity in order to facilitate the development and implementation of communications plans; participate in brainstorming regarding client direction in internal strategy meetings
Create and update project files, meeting agendas and website content; collaborate with team members
Partner with client to develop engaging and innovative content for social media, advertising, videos, websites, fact sheets, presentations and other collateral as required to assist in a strong communication strategy for the client
Proofread news releases, newsletter articles, media pitches and other client materials as needed
Work with the client’s design team for production of collateral materials
Assist in coordinating public meetings, tours and events, including attendee outreach and mobilization, and leading set up and cleanup activities
Responsible for special event coordination, public workshops, and advisory/community committee processes, including conducting research, managing vendors, setting up and taking down, committee administration, event documentation and staffing events
Respond to stakeholder inquiries and track outreach and activities
Conduct field outreach, canvassing and other stakeholder‑facing outreach activities
Prepare reports on outreach, media, social media and other metrics to aid project planning and analysis
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with targeted, high‑level external audiences
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client base
Additional responsibilities as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Administration or similar preferred
3+ years' experience in public relations or public outreach fields
