Overview

Lead Certified Medical Assistant (Lead CMA) at Hackensack Meridian Health coordinates clinical flow, manages MA staff, and ensures quality patient care. The role promotes a positive work environment aligned with departmental goals. Responsibilities

Perform all duties of a Medical Assistant. Schedule MA and clerical staff to achieve optimum patient service and workflow. Coordinate front‑end functions with clerical coordinator, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and authorized testing/procedures. Recommend corrections to quality assurance problems and ensure employees provide quality clinical care. Assist with training MA staff on specialized testing (A1C, blood glucose monitoring, point‑of‑care testing). Assess staff proficiency in testing and provide ongoing feedback to management. Orient MA staff on current and future monitoring equipment and equipment upgrades. Maintain equipment in working order, logbooks, and calibration; place work orders and teach staff proper procedures. Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed. Collect unit statistical data, review results, and recommend improvements. Consult with nurse coordinator/manager on patient and physician complaints and resolve issues. Participate in the budget process with nurse coordinator/manager and monitor expenditures. Delegate responsibilities to MA staff to develop potential and follow up on performance. Identify patient population needs and modify care delivery accordingly (age, culture, language, hearing, visual impairment). Adhere to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program. Proficient with computer systems; excellent communication skills; ability to function in a fast‑paced, challenging environment. Five (5) years of clinical experience. Preferred Education

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited college. Licenses and Certifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) or Certified Registered Advanced Medical Assistant (CRA‑MA) or Certified Registered Medical Assistant (CRA‑MA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Clinical Medical Assistant Specialist (RC‑MS) or Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate or Certified Clinical Administrative Medical Assistant or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant. BLS AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or HCP Certification. Compensation

Minimum hourly rate: $23.97. The posted rate is a good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role. Compensation may vary based on market data, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. EEO Statement
