DESCRIPTION Our design philosophy is rooted in the Bay Region Tradition—site-specific and unpretentious, with strong indoor‑outdoor connections. Natural materials and the interplay of light are central to our work, as are the unique challenges of urban infill, adaptive reuse, and sustainable building strategies. We bring warmth to modern residential design, with careful attention to site, orientation, context, and the microclimates unique to the Bay Area.

MDa Studios is seeking a designer with a passion for design, an appreciation for material richness, and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with principals and project managers across all project phases—from initial 3D modeling through construction documentation and administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES The junior designer will prepare design and construction documents under supervision and provide support to project teams across all project phases. Responsibilities include developing design sketches, layouts, and details in coordination with consultants and other disciplines. The designer may also assist with the preparation of marketing materials and proposals.
