Summary The Demand Planner II is responsible for driving the demand planning process for the assigned strategic business unit(s). This role is developing and maintaining volume forecasts and reviews historical sales data to make informed recommendations to key business stakeholders, including sales, financial, and business unit leaders.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities, Tasks, Supervisory Needs)

Develops and maintains an 18–36-month volume forecast within the current forecasting system by Item, Customer, Branch Plant (distribution location) and Country

Reviews historical sales trends, downstream sales and inventory and other demand drivers to prepare and refine forecasts as part of the monthly S&OP process

Schedules and leads demand collaboration (pre-consensus) meetings with key stakeholders in Sales, Category/Species Management, etc.

Prepares presentations with analysis views at various levels of aggregation (customer, channel, category, etc.) using available Excel and/or Power BI analysis tools, in a way that effectively facilitates forecast discussions with key stakeholders

Continuously evaluates and recommends strategies to better engage stakeholders and improve cross-functional collaboration on forecasts

Analyzes variances between existing forecasts, financial plans and actual sales; continuously evaluates and recommend improvements to the way our available data is used to facilitate forecast analysis and collaboration

Protects the financial performance of the strategic business units by identifying potential supply chain issues

Reviews external customer forecast (CPFR) data where available; works with Sales partners to incorporate guidance into forecast when reasonable and feasible

Works with stakeholders to build what-if scenarios and propose business actions to management

Additional Responsibilities

Modify existing analytics tools within Excel as needed

Propose improvements to analytics tools within IBP

Work with plants to create and maintain a master list of production line capacities

Monitor and report out plant schedule adherence (PSA)

Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

This is an exempt position with an annualized salary range of $88,000 to $107,000.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, data analytics, or related field

A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced proficiency with Excel (PivotTables, advanced formulas, formatting)

Intermediate proficiency with PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products

Ability to interpret business logic and develop appropriate data flows and data dependencies

Basic working knowledge of statistical forecasting models

Basic knowledge of relational database concepts

Preferred Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Intermediate knowledge of statistical forecasting models

Power Query and PowerPivot experience

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remote on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
