Description We are looking for experienced QA / Tools & Automation Engineers with strong hands‑on automation skills (Swift, Python) to join our Apple Media Services (AMS) QA team. You will work on some of Apple’s most well‑known applications and play a key role in improving product quality through automation, tooling, and intelligent testing strategies. You will own and drive test automation approaches and strategies, executing functional, acceptance, compatibility, integration, and reliability testing through automated frameworks for both mobile and desktop applications. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams across Apple Music, Apple TV+, Podcasts, and other Apple apps to design and maintain scalable systems that validate critical features across devices and backend services. These systems span consumer‑facing UI as well as backend APIs and services. You will contribute directly to the development of test applications, frameworks, and tooling used for API and UI automation. You’ll collaborate with engineering partners to define testing strategies and work on infrastructure initiatives that improve the scalability, reliability, and intelligence of our test systems. This is a highly technical and collaborative role, well‑suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems through code, infrastructure, and AI‑driven quality innovation.

Responsibilities

Developing reusable and reliable test tools

Building and maintaining automated test infrastructure

Supporting CI/CD pipelines, integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

Design, implement, and maintain automation‑first QA strategies

Develop test applications and tools to enable deeper validation of product behavior

Build scalable API and UI automation frameworks

Apply AI and data‑driven approaches to improve test effectiveness, reduce manual effort, and enhance defect detection

Collaborate closely with development teams to influence quality early in the development lifecycle

Balance automation and targeted manual testing when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Strong automation experience (automation >90% of daily work)

Hands‑on experience testing iOS and macOS applications (tvOS, watchOS knowledge is a plus)

Experience developing test frameworks, tools, or test applications

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment

Proficiency in: Swift, Python, Shell scripting

BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of SQA methodologies and best practices

Ability to own an entire functional area of an application or system

Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Interest or experience using AI/ML techniques to enhance QA efficiency and quality

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
