Your Next Opportunity: The Payroll Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all payroll entries are reconciled to the general ledger and that tax files are accurate and compliant. This position will also help with audits, unclaimed property, workers’ compensation review, and some payroll processing activities.

What You’ll Do:

Review and reconcile all payroll tax filings and payments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Support year‑end payroll activities including supporting audits and reviewing W‑2s.

Support month‑end close activities related to payroll deliverables.

Reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

Ensure all accrued payroll entries and costs are captured correctly.

Work with other departments to make sure all payroll deliverables are on time and accurate.

Respond to questions and inquiries related to general ledger, payroll taxes, workers’ comp, and other payroll related matters.

Help review unclaimed property related to payroll and ensure compliance with state laws.

Support regular payroll processing activities and ensure accuracy.

Prepare correspondence, documentation, and other materials needed for audits.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas)

Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus.

Detail‑oriented and solid time‑management skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

Be able to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

What You Bring to Us:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline.

Experience with reconciling general ledger accounts.

Three or more years of experience in payroll or related financial functions.

Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Working Conditions:

General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

$33.45 – $44.00 Hourly

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job‑related experience, skills, and education.
