Senior Software Engineer provides advanced technical leadership in designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure software solutions supporting Naval Control Systems (NCS) and cybersecurity modernization efforts. This role drives Agile/DevSecOps execution, oversees complex integration activities across shipboard and laboratory environments, and ensures software capabilities meet mission, cybersecurity, and reliability requirements. Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end software engineering activities including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and optimization of cybersecurity and control-system software. Develop high-quality, secure, and maintainable code in alignment with DoD, Navy, and RMF requirements. Guide the integration of software modules with control systems, analytics engines, cybersecurity tools, and simulation platforms. Serve as a senior contributor within Agile teams, planning sprints, estimating workload, and mentoring junior developers. Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and secure coding practices. Lead root cause analysis, debugging, performance improvements, and refactoring activities. Oversee software integration and validation activities across shipboard, testbed, and virtualization environments. Support functional, regression, security, and readiness testing aligned with program test plans. Ensure successful transition of software from development to operational deployment. Prepare software design artifacts, interface control documents (ICDs), release notes, and engineering reports. Collaborate closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity SMEs, testers, and program stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment with mission needs. Required Skills and Experience
Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems. Five (5) years of professional experience in software engineering. At least three (3) years applying Agile and/or DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies in a professional or academic setting. Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams. Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work. Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Preferred Skills and Experience
Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification. Experience supporting NCS, embedded systems, or shipboard control environments. Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, or Navy cybersecurity requirements. Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Work Location

The salary range for this position is up to $82,330. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Benefits Overview
