Qualifications
Associate Degree
NY RN License
Aha BLS
2 yrs of Labor and Delivery experience
Responsibilities
Develops and delivers educational programs
for Labor & Delivery nurses and support staff, including orientation, competency assessments, simulation training, and continuing education in maternal–newborn care.
Provides clinical instruction and mentorship
to nurses on labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal procedures to ensure safe, evidence-based patient care practices.
Collaborates with physicians, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary teams
to identify learning needs, update clinical policies, and implement new standards of care aligned with hospital and state regulations.
Monitors and evaluates staff performance and clinical competencies , providing constructive feedback and individualized training plans to enhance clinical outcomes and staff development.
Leads quality improvement initiatives
related to maternal safety, fetal monitoring, infection prevention, and emergency response (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal resuscitation).
