Anesthesiologist Assistant – Sign-on Bonus & Loan Repayment Eligible! Join Cleveland Clinic’s Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, a bustling tertiary care facility and Level 2 Trauma Center, to provide anesthesia services as an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA). The role offers a diverse range of cases, a collaborative environment with AAs, CRNAs, and MDAs, and a flexible scheduling model. AAs will work four 10‑hour shifts or a combination of two 8‑hour and two 12‑hour shifts per week, with occasional weekend call from home.

Responsibilities

Obtain a comprehensive patient history and relevant elements of a physical exam

Discuss findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia

Review the patient’s condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to induction

Pre‑test and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems

Administer blood, blood products, and supportive fluids

Administer emergency measures when complications arise

Other duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the board of regents

Certifications

Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants

Current, valid certificate of registration

Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) – required

Complexity of Work

Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently

Must operate effectively in a stressful environment and initiate appropriate actions

Physical Requirements

Full range of motion; handle and lift patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination

Stand and walk for extensive periods

Occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 lb and push/pull/navigate carts up to 200 lb

Corrected vision and hearing within normal limits

Work irregular hours under stressful conditions

Exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids

Personal Protective Equipment

Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required for procedures

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $230,000.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $299,000.00
