Description West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a Transplant Nephrologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidates will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
WVU Medicine provides comprehensive transplant services to meet the needs of patients in West Virginia and the region. The candidate for this exciting opportunity will provide transplant nephrology services and help foster the growth of our renal transplant program.
The successful candidate will practice in the area of Transplant Nephrology. The Transplant Nephrologist will work with all transplant team members and abide by all UNOS bylaws and CMS regulations. This collaboration will include evaluating and planning kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients through all phases of transplantation. They will actively participate in the growth of the program with the other team members while serving as an integral component of the Patient Selection Committee, QAPI, and research initiatives.
While providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as mentor/educate Transplant Staff to care for kidney patients and provide ongoing support.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for a state medical license.
Meet UNOS and OPTN requirements as applicable.
Completed a fellowship in nephrology and a fellowship in transplant nephrology or equivalent experience.
Board certified in internal medicine and certified/eligible in nephrology.
At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology (all qualifications met by time of appointment).
