Director, New Product Planning and Business Development Forecasting, Global Oncology Takeda Pharmaceutical • Cambridge, MA

About the role Join as a key strategic partner to the business development and new product planning teams in creating forecasts for pipeline assets and Business Development (BD) opportunities within Takeda's Oncology Business Unit (OBU). Conduct strategic market analysis using secondary healthcare data analytics, competitive intelligence, and primary market research to provide quantitative insights that influence strategic business decisions.

How You Will Contribute

Ensure customized global strategic forecasts are developed for pipeline assets and BD opportunities based on facts and research.

Collaborate with commercial, NPP, market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, global pricing, and market access teams to incorporate relevant market insights.

Lead consensus building and secure endorsement for forecast assumptions with senior stakeholders and the Oncology Leadership Team (OLT).

Leverage advanced analytics across multiple data sources to understand market impact and support Takeda’s commercial strategy.

Lead development, training, and dissemination of long-range forecasting templates and management summaries for oncology products to regions and local operating companies.

Maintain and generate oncology epidemiology databases and analogs for continuous improvement of forecasting inputs across markets.

Create range-based forecasts that identify risks and opportunities for brands/assets under consideration.

Serve as a strategic partner to commercial/NPP teams, accelerating pipeline assets and evaluating BD opportunities.

Manage and supervise a team of Takeda resources and vendors (onshore & offshore) to deliver key priorities.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

BA/BS degree (advanced degree preferred). Minimum 10 years of forecasting, market research, or business analytics experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Experience conducting complex asset valuations in a fast‑paced environment.

Advanced spreadsheet and patient-based forecast modeling skills, including dynamic patient models.

Experience in business development forecasting (preferred) and oncology (solid tumors, hematologic, or similar specialties).

Proficiency with quantitative techniques such as smoothing, regression, time series analysis, simulation, data analysis, and visualization tools.

Global product launch experience; consulting background in forecasting, market research or business analysis.

Working knowledge of biopharmaceutical databases, global access and reimbursement policies, and competitive environment.

Strong facilitation, communication, and senior stakeholder influence skills.

Excellent project management and ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Exceptional written and oral communication; ability to explain complex concepts simply and build consensus.

Client-service mindset and strategic thinking with translation of insights into analytical frameworks.

Compensation & Benefits Summary U.S. Base Salary Range: $174,500.00 – $274,230.00 (location in Boston, MA). Salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, and other factors. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, disability and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well‑being benefits, sick time, and vacation.

Location & Work Arrangement Boston, MA • Hybrid (in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy).
