Position Summary
The IT Project Manager oversees implementation of new clinical and business applications, system upgrades, application rollouts, and infrastructure and networking projects. External consultants, contracted resources, and customer employees may report to project teams during the project lifecycle. The Project Manager provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Develops the project work plan, work breakdown structure, and schedule using a designated project management tool for project team usage. Project Plans include sufficient task-level detail to capture known dependencies and major milestones. Manages all assigned projects. Utilizes effective project and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ensures all projects align with overall customer objectives and strategic plans. Manages day-to-day activities of cross-functional project teams and ensures adherence to the project plan. Deploys best practices approach defined by Project Delivery Services team. Controls change, adjusts budget, timeline, and scope to accommodate approved changes. Produces timely, detailed summaries and high-level reports. Provides project schedule, actual vs. budget, and earned value information in project progress reports. Identifies and mitigates project risk, keeps issues visible to avoid impacting project success. Confirms alignment of customer expectations and project goals. Ensures proper quality assurance and user acceptance of solutions prior to implementation. Reviews and finalizes deliverables and monitors quality control. Develops customer Return on Investment metrics for project based on customer objectives. Maintains strong working relationships with all key stakeholders including Client Executives, Product Managers, and Resource Allocation Manager. Coordinates with Client Executives and Product Directors to align all projects with customer strategic objectives. Collaborates with Resource Allocation Manager to ensure associates with required skills are available to support implementation of new system solutions. Manages all resources assigned to projects. Motivates, guides, and leads implementation staff to achieve organizational goals and satisfy customers. Proactively identifies project and staff related issues. Participates in performance appraisals and contributes to project team associate’s performance appraisals. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements
Demonstrated experience managing IT projects in an enterprise environment. Experience working with tool to create and manage project plans using MS Project implementation management. Experience managing project budgets. Background in hospital/medical claims processes and knowledge of claims workflow is a requirement. Core Competencies
