The Senior Landman will focus primarily on surface operations in the Permian Basin. This individual is well‑rounded in all aspects of landman proficiencies and will act as an influential advisor to guide our growth. The role requires relocation to Midland or Houston, TX and reports to the Vice President Land.

Essential Job Duties
Demonstrate expert level landman skills that contribute to business opportunities and enhance processes.
Collaborate across business disciplines to drive initiatives and achieve objectives within budget.
Build and maintain relationships with landowners and legal representatives to negotiate agreements.
Guide support staff in preparing all forms of land agreements and contracts and ensure maintenance of internal land records.
Handle advanced tasks associated with surface land operations.
Interpret, negotiate, and prepare surface‑land contracts such as ROW, easements, surface use agreements, well site agreements, off‑lease locations, and subsurface easements.
Provide the asset team with high‑level land support and information critical to commercial and construction projects.
Order take‑off, abstracts, and surface title opinions.
Manage clearing title for upcoming projects.
Collaborate with Legal as needed in preparation of complex contracts.
Collaborate with BD for expansion projects.
Conduct due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures of properties.
Mentor and develop support staff.
Visit field sites as necessary.
Adhere to company guidelines and safety policies.
Participate in other assigned duties and projects based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
10+ years as a landman.
In‑house landman experience.
Experience in the Permian Basin, especially the Delaware Basin.
Versatile and adaptable for growth.
Strong negotiation skills.
Problem‑solving and business recommendation capabilities.
Operate independently with limited supervision.
Manage multiple projects and deliver results in a performance‑driven environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Google Earth, KMZs, or similar mapping software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Quorum ODL or comparable system.
Vehicle operation and good driving record.
Willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
AAPL Certified Professional Landman.
E&P small/start‑up market experience.
Equipment Used
Computer/laptop/tablet.
Desk and cell phone.
Multi‑purpose copier/printer and plotter printers.
Standard office supplies.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Standard office environment.
Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Will travel and adhere to safety guidelines at field sites.
