About the Role As a Department Manager, you’ll be the leader supporting and encouraging your whole team. You’ll create an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit, helping you, your team, and H&M succeed. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues, and analyze sales data to optimize results and profits.

A Day in the Life Customer Sales & Profit

Own the total OMNI customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.

Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.

Identify commercial opportunities in your department and act on them.

Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results.

Ensure customer service throughout the store and support your team to actively promote and sell products.

Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives.

Manage your department cost‑efficiently.

Maintain correct fitting‑room and checkout routines, including transactions, returns and exchanges.

Handle all admin routines for people and operations correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

Stay up to date with fashion scenes, trends, styles, brands, products and competitors.

Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.

Team & Development

Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop your store team.

Complete performance evaluations and succession planning.

Share your knowledge and skills with the team.

Collaborate and plan with the in‑store Visual Merchandiser team.

Give and receive regular feedback.

Plan and schedule the team’s shift roster.

Communicate with store colleagues to motivate and inspire (daily, weekly meetings).

Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed.

Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs.

Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution

Maintain a clean, tidy sales floor and back‑of‑house.

Deliver high‑quality visual and commercial product presentation.

Secure good stock levels and support allocation to the Area team.

Maintain garment cycle and fitting‑room routines per internal standards.

Follow best practice for in‑store OMNI services and tech tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store).

Maintain accurate price signage per global and local strategies.

Maintain back‑of‑house areas for health, safety and tidiness.

Open and close the store daily.

Compensation and Benefits Compensation:

Expected base salary range is $24.15 – $28.50 per hour.
