Job Description
SSM Health Dean Medical Group is seeking a Hospitalist to join our robust team of skilled professionals. This position is based at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, with occasional shift support at SSM Health St. Mary's in Janesville, WI.
Key Responsibilities
Daytime Rounding Shifts: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday–Sunday)
Evening Admitting Shifts: 8-hour shifts with start times ranging from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Night Shifts: 10:30 pm – 7:30 am
Patient Care: Manage an average census of 14–15 patients, typically 1 admission per rounding shift
Shift Distribution:
Up to 50% of shifts will be nights
Rounding shifts typically occur in blocks of 5–7 days, with Monday as the switch day
ICU Coverage:
Madison: Closed ICU
Janesville: 4-bed open ICU with 24/7 eICU capabilities
Full-Time Position: 200 shifts annually
Requirements
Active, unrestricted WI medical license
Active, unrestricted DEA
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
