The Job As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will handle any emergency that comes through the door, from routine cases to complex surgeries, and treat every kind of pet, including exotics. You’ll be a leader on the hospital floor, mentor teammates, and grow your career with continuous learning and mentorship.
What You’ll Do
Answer medical questions over the phone and triage patients quickly.
Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and perform physical examinations.
Perform diagnostics—ultrasounds, X‑rays, bloodwork, biopsies—and create diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans directly with owners, estimate costs, and discuss options.
Prepare and review accurate medical records.
Educate owners on after‑care and preventive measures.
Perform minor and major emergency surgeries, endoscopic procedures, and other required interventions.
What You Need
A DVM or equivalent degree.
Extensive experience in emergency medicine, including soft‑tissue surgery and endoscopy.
Ability to stand, kneel, lift up to 25 kg solo, and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
Comfortable working in a noisy environment with strong odors.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as‑needed basis.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in fast‑paced, diverse environments.

Competitive compensation: Total salary range $140,000 – $350,000 per year, with expected base $180,000 – $200,000 plus discretionary production bonus target; 401(k) match included.
