Avirem
We are an early-stage concierge healthtech startup enabling patients to conveniently book and receive injectables treatments from home. Our mission is to make high-quality aesthetic care accessible, seamless, and safe through licensed clinicians and a modern patient experience.
For our upcoming launch, we are seeking a Medical Director to review and approve patient treatments. This engagement is ideal for a medical professional experienced in aesthetics who wants to support an innovative consumer health platform.
Role Overview The Medical Director will provide clinical oversight during our demo day, including reviewing intake forms, ensuring treatment suitability, and authorizing care plans for Botox and dermal filler procedures. This role is focused on compliance, patient safety, and medical appropriateness, not day-to-day operations or long-term management.
You will partner closely with our team and licensed injectors to ensure all services provided on upon launch meet regulatory and professional standards.
Responsibilities
Review patient intake information and confirm treatment eligibility for Botox and filler procedures.
Provide medical approval for aesthetic treatments in accordance with applicable state laws and clinical guidelines.
Serve as the supervising physician for delegated aesthetic procedures performed by licensed injectors (i.e., NPs).
Ensure compliance with relevant medical, telehealth, and cosmetic‑treatment regulations.
Offer guidance on clinical safety, contraindications, and best practices in aesthetic medicine.
Be available (virtually or on‑site) for questions or clinical oversight.
Qualifications
MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license in NY state.
Experience in aesthetic medicine, dermatology, plastic surgery, or other specialties involving Botox/fillers strongly preferred.
Familiarity with supervisory requirements for cosmetic injectables.
Understanding of contraindications, facial anatomy, and safety considerations for neuromodulators and dermal fillers.
Comfortable working in a telehealth‑supported, startup‑friendly environment.
Strong communication skills and commitment to patient safety.
