Program Overview The program, led by Peraton Labs with external infrastructure support, conducts advanced research for the customer on a variety of topics, including cybersecurity, RF solutions, and quantum communications. Mission focus is on developing next‑gen tools for detecting cyber‑attacks, enhancing network resilience, and improving small‑form factor sensor systems while maintaining a focus on cutting‑edge technologies like machine learning and software‑defined networking.

About the Role At Peraton Labs, we are looking for candidates with a strong background in software development and networking for full‑time positions in our network system group. Candidates will work with teams to research, conceive, and develop prototypes as well as operational software. The candidates should be adept at identifying successful approaches to complex problems. Projects will involve a mix of research and development and will range from applied research to advanced prototyping to development, verification, and certification of operational software. This position will be full‑time at a customer facility. The ideal candidate will be one who is able to collaborate as part of a dynamic customer, Peraton Labs, and subcontractor team as well as execute work independently.

This position is an integral member of the Peraton Labs Network Systems team supporting a customer site location. The individual must be capable of interfacing with the customer as well as monitoring and directing subcontractor tasking. This position requires full time on‑site work in College Park, Maryland or Laurel, Maryland.

Qualifications Six (6) years of experience in application prototype development and a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a Master's Degree with four (4) years experience, or a Ph.D with two (2) years experience. In lieu of a Bachelors' degree an additional four (4) years experience is required for a total of 10 years.

Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++, Java, or other related languages.

Must be experienced/comfortable coding in a Linux environment.

Strong systems skills (Linux, Windows, Shell Scripting, VM Technologies).

Experience with design, development, test, verification, and certification of operational software is highly desired.

Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire knowledge of new technologies.

Minimum Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI w/ Polygraph
