Responsibilities
Prepare Comprehensive Project Estimates: Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop accurate material takeoffs, labor assessments, and cost proposals for commercial glazing, veneer, and structural glass projects.
Support Pre-Construction Planning: Collaborate with project managers, estimators, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, validate design intent, and align project budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
Facilitate Effective Project Coordination: Serve as a central communication point among internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals to ensure project milestones, submittals, RFIs, and material approvals progress efficiently.
Manage Procurement and Buyouts: Perform vendor outreach, obtain competitive pricing, evaluate supplier proposals, and execute material buyouts to ensure compliance with project specifications, cost control targets, and established construction timelines.
Oversee Submittals and Documentation: Prepare, review, and track technical submittals, shop drawings, product data, and samples; ensure timely distribution and maintain organized project documentation in accordance with company standards.
Monitor Project Progress and Field Needs: Assist project managers with schedule tracking, material delivery coordination, and field support to proactively address installation issues, sequencing challenges, or design clarifications.
Ensure Compliance with Safety and Quality Standards: Support quality control processes, verify that installed glazing and veneer systems meet project specifications, and promote adherence to safety protocols on job sites.
Contribute to Project Closeout: Help compile warranty packages, as-built documentation, and final material records; support successful project turnover to clients and building owners.
Job Requirements A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is required, plus five (5) years of experience as engineer, construction manager, building inspector, or similar; or in the alternative a master’s degree plus 6 months of experience.
