Associate Director, Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group – Chicago
Join Fitch Ratings as an Associate Director in our Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group based out of our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office.
Responsibilities
Lead ratings analysis, execution, and research on new and existing North American infrastructure and project finance transactions.
Identify industry trends, assess their credit impact, and incorporate findings into industry reports and presentations.
Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents to produce ratings, credit reports, and special research reports.
Collaborate with other analytical groups to ensure consistency and efficient transaction execution across multiple groups.
Mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
5+ years of solid project finance experience in the infrastructure sector.
Proven project finance and infrastructure credit skills gained in a bank credit department, a rating agency, buy‑side credit department, or similar.
Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
Extensive modeling skills with deep familiarity with spreadsheet‑based financial models.
Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and ask probing questions of issuers and advisers.
Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Capacity to work under tight deadlines and demonstrate flexibility to take on additional responsibilities.
Preferred
Rating agency experience.
Ratings advisory work.
Deep understanding of and interest in infrastructure and project finance.
Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis.
Experience interpreting complex legal documents such as bank agreements and bond indentures.
Leadership and proactive interaction with stakeholders.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.
Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or Public Administration.
For New York & Chicago roles: Expected base pay ranges from $110,000 to $135,000 per year, plus potential commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives.
