Job Summary We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our team in our Denver office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities

Managing complex tax engagements across a variety of industries, including franchise, food & beverage, real estate, and other commercial sectors.

Demonstrating strong technical proficiency in US GAAP, federal and state tax compliance, S corp returns, partnership returns, complex individual returns, and multi‑state filings.

Running client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects while managing engagement budgets and timelines.

Supervising, training, and mentoring staff and interns on tax engagements; serving as a reviewer and escalating responsibilities as proficiency increases.

Reviewing tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy and opportunities for tax efficiencies; providing clear guidance and recommendations.

Preparing and reviewing tax returns for complex individuals, S corporations, partnerships, real estate entities, and other flow‑through structures.

Researching and advising on various federal and state tax matters, including entity structure, basis calculations, allocations, and industry‑specific issues.

Utilizing tax research tools and tax preparation software to complete compliance work and resolve technical tax issues.

Communicating with tax authorities and responding to IRS and state agency inquiries.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering high‑quality, proactive tax guidance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Taxation or similar advanced degree preferred.

5+ years of progressive tax compliance and advisory experience with a strong focus on S corporations, partnerships (including real‑estate‑driven partnership structures), commercial/industry‑based tax issues, and individual taxation, within the public accounting industry.

CPA license required.

Ability to lead and manage teams, delegate work effectively, and mentor developing professionals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and professional tax software including ProSystems, CCH, and related platforms.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work additional hours as needed during peak periods.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.

Maintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others.
